Mont -Saint- Michel

On Saturday we travelled to Mont-Saint-Michel.  When we were 7km away you could see in the distance the awesome site of the 10th century monastery.
Dominating the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, the abbey boasts several marvels of medieval architecture.  All the rooms related to monastic life are stacked above one another around the top of the rock.
Founded according to legend, after the appearance of the archangel Saint Michael, the monastery grew from the 10th to the 15th century on several floors around the abbey church.
Below are just some of the pictures we took, an experience none of us will forget.

  1. jb,tc & ns-joint comment: 2 hr drive to mont st michel, great view from 7km away, once you get close you can see the scale of the monastrey, it was massive inside aswell as out, after we conquered the hill we had 1000 steps to go up, which was a pulse raising activity, once at the top we could see the landscape it was a pretty amazing site and very memorable. we recommend mont st michel to all tourists as it was beautiful to visit.
