Memories of D-Day: Sword Beach
On Friday afternoon we visited the coastal town of Ouisterham and went to the Commando Museum "Sword". Students were able to watch a film on the French soldiers training in Scotland and Titchfield, England, preparing them for embarkment. Fours years of intensive, physical training for them to be honoured with the No 4 Commando Green Beret leading up to to the D-Day invasion.
After our visit to the memorial and museum we enjoyed a BBQ on the beach with a game of football.
