Mixing Hemp & Lime for the main building

We had two local specialist builders from the local area give the group a demonstration on mixing hemp and lime to form a insulation.  The room required preparing the walls with shuttering and any existing plaster to be removed.

We have had the main building prepared after many hours of preparation and clearing of old plaster and tiles.  Fantastic team effort, Well done lads!

We have had a demonstration given from local French builders Julian and Arnie on the process for fixing shuttering and mixing hemp and lime.

In under two days the students mixed twenty five bags of hemp with 28 bags of lime, fantastic team effort on mixing and applying it behind the shuttering.  All very well organised by team leader John Crisp who was complimented by our restoration experts who said that the team worked well under his motivation and organisation.
